E giram, dançam, riem... giram, dançam, riem... pois a diversão e a expressão corporal é a função principal! By the simple fact that Dance and Pole Dance are part of my life and profession is inevitable that my nieces ask me to dance, to teach them dance steps, some acrobatics tricks like handstands, bridge, splits and the Pole Dance is no exception! It has become natural that when they visit me they always run for the pole! And they spin, they dance, they laugh... they spin, they dance, they laugh... because the fun and the body expression is the main function! Pure play without any sexual content applied. Pole Kids is a fun, artistic genre and sport that intends through aerial acrobatics to increase the physical and mental dexterity, develop body awareness and the creativity of the little ones! This workshop is divided into two groups, from 5 to 7 years old and from 8 to 11 years old. The workshop have the sponsorship of Miss23 pole mattresses, which are suitable for the safe practice of Pole and are manufactured in Portugal! After this workshop I am sure the playgrounds poles will make much more sense with new tricks and moves to add more fun! A dança é a minha vida e o meu trabalho a tempo inteiro. Escolhi a dança ou a dança escolheu-me? It will come a day where Pole Dancers will be divided in Pole Dancer Competitor or Soul Pole Dancer just like others sports like surfing? In that case, I am in Soul division. I am not a competitive person or dancer. Dance is my life and my full time job. Did I choose dance or dance chose me? I believe every authentic dancer as a unique way of expression, of being, feeling, moving. This cannot be judged! Technique is like learning some language. With technique you learn how to express what you feel, you learn to communicate. But then when it is well rooted, it is there! You don't need to think about it. It is like talking, you don't think about every word anymore, it comes naturally. Then the body expresses itself the fullest, letting the soul lead, letting the heart speak, letting the connection between your body, mind and soul become united and fluid. Don't work only and exclusively on your technique, learn also to listen to your soul, learn to connect body, mind and soul, learn to be fully present, learn to listen to the outside and to the inside, learn to dance to silence, learn to be still to sounds, learn to be here and now with every cell of your body, with all your senses awaken and let the light inside you spread love to every audience who watch you, to every student you meet in class. When you master technique and the authenticity of your movement and being you will find perfection! 4. Sintonizar a mente, corpo e coração 5. The Pole Dance is supposed to be fun and bring us good mood. When frustration comes it should be analyzed to better solve our problem. Each student is different and its technical level, body awareness, motivation and development are also different. There must be a realistic look at ourselves so that we can evolve step by step with consistent expectations. Too high expectations and lack of sense of ourselves and our capabilities often lead to states of frustration. When the moments of frustration arise we should think about them and see what went wrong and find solutions for a positive change! So we need: 1. Work for that change! With a touch of effort, willpower, persistence, dedication and patience we can go further! 2. Slowly goes a long way! Knowing well our body and our technical level we can put more realistic objectives and thus be more successful with the results. 3. Small achievements are great achievements. The Pole Dance is a demanding and intense activity that requires us to be aware that small progress is a big progress. In that way we can gradually and consistently achieve our goals! You must enjoy the process and not just the end! 4. Tune the mind, body and heart! 5. Look to you and not to colleagues. Each person evolves differently because their physical fitness, history, learning ability, and others is different and so making comparisons is not productive. To increase motivation we should only compete with ourselves, improve ourselves and feel our own evolution. Sometimes we can look at an old picture of ourselves and that allows us to understand more specifically our progress. 6. Take one day at a time Sometimes fatigue, some family situation, work, or other affects our motivation and desire to devote our time to the Pole, but we should at these times to take it easy and respect our bodies. But as the Pole Dance is supposed to be a fun activity, takes advantage of those moments to go into the classroom like it is a temple! At that time enjoy your every moment and your small achievements! 7. The problem may not be you! See how your teacher is giving classes and asks yourself if the program of the class is applied to your level, if there is consistency in the way of giving the lesson. If the program of the class is inappropriate to your level you will feel that your progress take long to appear! 8. One step back two forward! Respect and always listen to your body, accept that sometimes we have to calm to evolve! |
